My girlfriend got this UV flashlight to investigate the pee pee smell in the bathroom, and whether I was the culprit. As it turns out, under ultraviolet light the wall next to the toilet looks like a Jackson Pollock painting.Okay, point taken! I'm a splasher, so sue me. A word of advice to any men reading this: Fire away, but always lift the lid, and aim directly at the center of the bowl.Works pretty well, not terribly bright but that's understandable at this price. I bought this to find hornworms on my tomatoes because at night they will glow in the light of a black light and they're so well camouflage they're almost impossible to find in the daytime. A serious hornworm infestation will wipe out a tomato crop in a day or so. Luckily I didn't have any. It turned out it was something else eating my plants. It's necessarily to get very close to the plant in order for the black light to illuminate it. I would have preferred something stronger so that I didn't have to basically run over every branch of which there are many.I bought this affordable torch for fun to help when I was thrifting. I wanted to find some Uranium glass and it has been a great tool… it is not bulky or heavy and fits in my handbag so I have it with me when I need it.My brother wanted a black light for his garden. Apparently a black light will help locate bugs. So buy this! It’s perfectI buy a lot of stuff on Amazon. This black light flashlight works well, but I have no clue why I bought it. It was a great value for the price. Maybe that’s it.I am a sewer, I got this to use when I look for white on white designed fabric. Really helps see the design easily plus it's so compact I can keep on my purse when fabric shoppingI like that I can finally see where the cat peed.It is what it is. Works as describedWe ordered this product because of it advertising that it’s perfect for finding traces of pet urine stains and we’ve recently been having issues with our cat suddenly spraying out of nowhere(thankfully we have now found the cause and fixed it!). We wanted to find every last trace of the stuff to clean it properly and this torch advertised that it’ll do that. It does not. Despite advertising it can and talking about its UV wavelength(395nm) being perfect I’ve found through a little research that it’s wavelight is near useless for that task! So if anyone is in the same position and needing this to ensure every inch of a pets mark is cleaned up don’t bother with this torch you need to find one that emits UV light at 365 or 385nm.I bought this light so I can see if and where my lovely dog has had any accidents. This flashlight does emit a blacklight however! The blacklight from this flashlight is not bright enough to show (bodily) fluids. Sounds terrible but let me explain, when you shine this light, you won't see much evidence of anything. UNLESS you bring your flashlight super duper close to the floor or the wall, then you will see a pee stain or you name it. This is a problem because who is going to scan the floor with a little flashlight 2 inches from the floor? So just keep that in mind. It only works if you're literally shining the light like 2 inches away and then you'll see if that area is dirty or not. I would not recommend this product.I bought this to detect cat urine primarily. I foster animals so sometimes we have a cat that has peed and we can smell it but we can’t see it, I thought this would ease the time taken hunting for it! It arrived quickly (God bless Prime!) and by chance my husband had accidentally locked our cat in an unused room for a few hours so by the time I discovered my poor boy he had peed on the carpet - great, I thought! I can test my new torch. Well, it is my most disappointing purchase ever! It didn’t glow up AT ALL. I thought perhaps maybe it worked better on dried in pee so I popped to the kennel that one of the kittens had snuck in and tested it on a definite patch of dry pee but nothing. ??‍♀️ The light in reality is more blue than the purple displayed in the pictures and it didn’t even make my white clothes glow up. Definitely was not UV. I tested both patches of pee in totally blacked out rooms, something definitely is not right so have returned.Our cat managed to bring in 2 young rats in 2 days!!! We thought (hoped) they had got out through the door left open during the day. Then noises during the day in a large pull out cupboard, and under the sink!! Bought a powerful trap and managed to kill it. I then spent 5 hours cleaning out the cupboards. Shone this in as soon as it arrived, and sure enough, I had missed some urine. This wasn't visible to the eye without the torch. It shows up as a luminescent green. It's brilliant. So good to find a product that really lives up to the description. Highly recommended. I feel reassured that when he next brings in a rodent, I can trace where it's been.I needed to check the the UV-fluorescent security marks on some equipment, so bought two cheap UV torches from Amazon, this one and one other. This is a first class product, compact, lightweight, well made, with a very bright light and UV-fluorescent materials really fluoresce in its beam. It did the job perfectly and was incredible value for money. It feels more expensive that it was.If you do buy one of these however I suggest you don't turn it on in your own (supposedly) clean home, since you will find that you're actually living in a world of horrible grime, and certainly don't explore your bathroom unless you want a really nasty surprise! I've just become a clean freak as a result of this purchase!
